Before they try it
Work email.
Let a personal address start.
A label that says work email is enough. So is a line that refuses a personal address.
The short answer
Let a personal email start the signup. Stumblet flags a label that says work email, business email, or company email, and a sentence that refuses a personal address. A placeholder that only hints at a work email is a softer note. A plain Email label is left alone.

What Stumblet flags
1Work email only
The title is “Work email only.” The fix is “Let a personal email start the signup.” There is one finding, and one rank, whether the page says it in the field or in a sentence. An extra field still outranks it. A button that only says Continue does not. Which fields count as extra is on signup fields.
The check runs only when the page has an email field. That is a field whose type is email, whose autocomplete is email, or whose label, name, or placeholder says email. Without that field, the words on the page do not raise this finding.
2The label or the placeholder says it
The email field's label contains work email, business email, or company email. Any case counts. E-mail, with a hyphen, counts. The line names that text: The email field says “Work Email”, and I don't have one for a product I haven't tried. The words in quotes stay as written. A long label is shortened.
The first email field that says it is the one quoted. A label of Email does not match. Email address does not match. A placeholder of you@company.com does not match. Mentioning “work email” in other copy, without one of the refusing sentences below, does not match either. A field labelled Company is not this finding. A field labelled Company email is.
A placeholder that says work email, business email, or company email, when the label does not, is a hint. The title is “Asks for a work email.” The fix is “Say a personal email can start, or accept one.” The line is: The email placeholder says “Enter your work email”, and nothing says a personal address is refused. That is not the “Work email only” title. A sentence on the page that refuses a personal address still uses “Work email only”, even when the only field text is a placeholder.
A label or placeholder that also says a personal address is fine does not raise it. “Personal or work email” is one of those. The phrases are the same ones in the next check.
3The page refuses a personal address
Visible page text raises the same finding when it asks for an organization email, an organisational email, or the same words with e-mail. Organizational, with the extra al, counts too, in either spelling. The line is “This asks for an organization email, and I don't have one for a product I haven't tried.”
The line “This asks for a work email, and I don't have one for a product I haven't tried.” is used when the text says work email only, business email only, or company email only. It is also used for “use a”, “use an”, or “use your”, followed by work, business, or company, then email. Business and company in that sentence still come out as “a work email”. “Use an organization email” keeps the organization line. “No personal email” and “no personal emails” use the work-email line. So does “personal email” or “personal emails”, then “not” or “aren't”, then “allowed” or “accepted”. The words “is” or “are” can sit in front of “not”.
That sentence is dropped when the page text also accepts a personal address. The phrases are “or a personal email”, “or your personal email”, “or personal email”, and “personal or” or “personal and” followed by work, business, or company. If the field's label still says Work email, the label check still stands. When the sentence and the label both match, the line quotes the sentence, not the label.
Questions
Does a field labelled Email get flagged?
No. The label has to say work email, business email, or company email, or the placeholder has to hint at one of those. Email, Email address, and a placeholder such as you@company.com do not. A placeholder hint uses a softer title than a label. A separate field labelled Company is a different finding.
What does the line say when the label is Work Email?
The title is “Work email only.” The fix is “Let a personal email start the signup.” The line is: The email field says “Work Email”, and I don't have one for a product I haven't tried. The words in quotes are the label as written, including its capitals. Business email and Company email use the same sentence with those words.
What if the placeholder says enter your work email?
The title is “Asks for a work email.” The fix is “Say a personal email can start, or accept one.” The line is: The email placeholder says “Enter your work email”, and nothing says a personal address is refused. Business email and company email in a placeholder use that same title. The title stays “Work email only” when the label itself says it, or when a sentence on the page refuses a personal address.
What if the page says to use an organization email?
That sentence raises the same finding, with the same title, the same fix, and the same rank. The line is: This asks for an organization email, and I don't have one for a product I haven't tried. Organisation, with an s, and organizational, use that same line. The line does not copy the page's spelling.
What if the page also says a personal email is fine?
A sentence that accepts a personal address does not raise this finding. That includes “or a personal email”, “or your personal email”, and “personal or work” (also personal and business, and personal and company). If the email field's own label still says Work email, the label still raises it.
Which line is used when the label and the sentence are both on the page?
The sentence. The label is quoted only when the page text does not already refuse a personal address. Both wordings are one finding, so the rank does not change.
Which fields to cut, including a company field that is not an email field, is on signup fields. What the first screen should say is on signup page copy. Asking for the password twice is on confirm password. A button that stays disabled is on signup button. Showing the rules before anyone types is on password rules. A provider button above the email is on social login. Running it yourself, and keeping the top five, is the new-user signup test. The short list is the onboarding checklist. The AI onboarding audit is the walk, and the signup prompt is the job it runs.
